Situated not far from Ljubljana in Slovenia, Lake Bled looks like a picture from a chocolate box. Surrounded by mountains, the Lake features Slovenia’s only natural island on which a small church has been build. Perched high above the lake is Bled Castle.

Having first visited Lake Bled in 2007, I have been back on numerous occasions usually in the Spring, but also twice for New Year.

There aren’t many more picturesque places that i’ve visited, that aren’t overrun with tourists.
