Sometimes, I manage to escape the office in Peterborough, jump on a train and attend Cyber Security conferences in London. This week was one of those weeks, with me spending all day on Thursday in Borough, just down from London Bridge.
London is by far one of my favourite cities to visit. As a child we would have family trips to London, especially at Christmas, so from an early age I got to know different parts of the city, and how to get across London on foot.
Today, i’m under an hour away on the train, and will quite often go down at a weekend just to be a tourist and wander around. It’s rare that i’ll know where I want to go, I just get off the train at Kings Cross and go exploring.
It’s rare to get good cloud formations over the Fens in the Winter unless there is a rainstorm or snowstorm on it’s way in.
Driving home tonight I noticed it was a great Winter sunset, with few clouds and the sky a wonderful orange colour. I drove out towards the Fens with a view of pulling over to get a photo of the sunset.
When you mention Belfast Street Art, most people think about the political murals that adorned the buildings around the Falls Road and the Shankhill Road. Budapest, in Hungary, is a city i’ve been lucky to visit twice in the past few years. It’s a city that’s easy to walk around, is safe both day and night and also has an excellent transport system of trams and metro’s to help you see the sights. Read More
Situated not far from Ljubljana in Slovenia, Lake Bled looks like a picture from a chocolate box. Surrounded by mountains, the Lake features Slovenia’s only natural island on which a small church has been build. Perched high above the lake is Bled Castle.
One of the benefits of living in the Fens is that we’re close by to the historical city of Cambridge.
I seem to find myself there randomly through the year, usually on a Saturday when I just want to get out of the house and go off exploring. Read More
The East Anglia Fens are my home. Although i’m only 10 minutes drive from the City of Peterborough, i’m less than a 5 minute drive out into the Fens. The fens are the very flat part of East Anglia allowing you to see for miles on a bright day.
Located between Beaufort and Crickhowell, the Moors hold some special memories. They overlook the valley with views out over the Brecon Beacons towards Langorse lake. As children on our holidays, we would sit on the moors watching the RAF jets flying below us, following the path of the river. Read More
One of my favourite cities in the UK is Cardiff. It holds so many memories from my childhood visits to see my parents families in the South Wales Valleys. The City has changes a lot over the year with the developments at Cardiff Bay as well as the new shopping areas in the City Centre.
