South Bank By Night

Sometimes, I manage to escape the office in Peterborough, jump on a train and attend Cyber Security conferences in London. This week was one of those weeks, with me spending all day on Thursday in Borough, just down from London Bridge.

When the conference ended it was just after 5.30pm, dark but not too cold – as a bonus the rain had also stopped ! Instead of jumping on the first train back to Kings Cross, and fighting through the mass of fellow commuters, I decided to follow one of my favourite London walks along the South Bank. This time, I had my small Sony Point & Click camera with me, so set off armed with my camera and a coffee.

I walked up through Borough Market, past Southwark Cathedral and the Golden Hinde and onto the South Bank. I followed the South Bank past Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Blackfriars, The Oxo Centre, Tate Modern and onwards past the National Theatre and the BFI to the Waterloo Bridge.

Here I crossed the Thames and wandered up to see the Christmas lights in Leicester Square, Regents Street and Carnaby Street. Apart from the 3 pictures in Carnaby Street, I stopped photographing once I crossed the Thames.
